LinzeePaints, thank you. Yes, the vase is also always very importent in a painting. Also the background. That is many times more difficult then the painting itself.
Dear Dona,
No dear, as explained in the description of the painting, this is for a very ill woman (palliatief) who lives very close nearby in my new neighbourhood (since Now 2016). She has a very rare and fatal disease and is slowing going downwards. Her favourite flowers are poppies, so that's how I came up with the idea. I so much hope it will give her some strength and something to smile at each day!
